Subject: FusionHow insignificant, one loney heart,
when measured on grand cosmic scale,
a space so vast no man can chart,
mere suns and moons against it pale.
The countless stars, the Milky Way,
that fills the sky on cloudless night,
speak more than words can ever say,
about our small and puny plight.
But when that lonely heart is mine,
my soul a bleak and broken place,
though all the stars in heaven shine,
they could not light that empty space.
No heat would thaw the icy pain,
could not ignite a single spark,
a nova's might would be in vain,
to drive from me the cloak of dark.
'Tis only you, with your sweet love,
that has the power and the fire,
to do what fails the stars above,
and kindle flames of my desire.
Two bodies meet, the fusion starts,
our brightness pales a blue-white star,
the solar flares from mated hearts,
outshines the galaxies by far.
Then when we've burned our energy,
and atoms slow and come to rest,
I'll hold you close up next to me,
and lay my head upon your breast.
